Look Of The Day: Burnished Copper!

I love these Metallic Creams from Laura Mercier! They look great on their own, yet they also make any color popped on top look even richer & bolder!

My favorite is the color burnished copper! (It's a taupey bronze red color)

For this look I used Burnished Copper as a base. Then YSL #7'Ombrés 5 Lumieres' Palette in Bronze Gold, applied that bronze color (top left corner) on top of the cream shadow. Lastly, I just blended away and smudged a little black liner in the outer corner.

Super simple, super easy, super cute
What more can a girl ask for?

Quote Of The Day!

“Isn't that the problem? That women have been swindled for centuries into substituting adornment for love, fashion (as it were) for passion? All the cosmetics names seemed obscenely obvious to me in their promises of sexual bliss. They were all firming or uplifting or invigorating. They made you tingle. Or glow. or feel young. They were prepared with hormones or placentas or royal jelly. All the juice and joy missing in the lives of these women were to be supplied by the contents of jars and bottles. No wonder they would spend twenty dollars for an ounce of face makeup or thirty for a half-ounce of hormone cream. What price bliss? What price sexual ecstasy?”

Favorite Mascaras PLUS My First Giveaway! CLOSED

What do we crave from a good tube of mascara?

Length, Volume, Intensity, Curl, Separation! We want the formula to be rich, we want it waterproof yet be able to remove with ease, we don't want it to dry out in two weeks, we want it to be able to build, we want it to boost our lashes, & we want it all in just ONE TUBE! I've yet to find a mascara that does EVERYTHING that I want it to do, I find myself layering different mascaras, one on top of another to accomplish the look that I'm going for.

I've selected 8 beauty bloggers (all blogs that I follow & enjoy reading) and asked them all the same question...

What is your favorite mascara, and why?

My favorite mascara would have to be Loreals Collagen Mascara in the darkest Black! I really love this mascara because it gives your eyelashes so much fullness and volume at the same time!

Blogger: Kat
Blogging From: Notting Hill, London UK
Blog: ClickandMake-Up

My holy grail mascara is MUFE's Smoky Lash Aqua. It achieves the magic hat-trick: length, volume and curl! The Aqua (waterproof) version helps to hold curl better, but the one downside is that it's more stubborn to remove. The wand is quite similar to L'Oreal Voluminous but the formulation is far superior, it's the blackest black mascara I've ever tried. UK availability isn't great so I always stock up when I'm near a Sephora.

My favorite mascara right now is Maybelline's Falsies Mascara! I've tried many high end mascaras and they don't work as good AND they are more expensive. This mascara really gives my lashes that extra flare. I have actually been asked twice by two guys if I was wearing false lashes (thats pretty awesome when GUYS notice my eye lashes!) I put on a couple of coats and my lashes looks fuller and longer!

I love dramatic eyelashes so my absolute favourite mascara has to be Majolica Majorca Lash Beautifying Mascara Frame Plus. It contains fibers, so your lashes are really built up in both length and volume. I like to layer it over the Majolica Majorca Lash Primer, or just another volumnizing mascara for serious volume (as much volume as my Asian lashes can produce, anyway!) Plus it's so much cheaper than high-end mascaras!

Blogger: Betzy

My favorite mascara would have to be the Maybelline Colossal mascara. I am in love with this mascara, i have re-purchase since it came out. Which is oddly enough because i always use different mascaras, Colossal thickens and volumizes my lashes. I love the finish look, it also works wonders on false lashes which i use frequently.

My favourite mascara has got to be MaxFactor Masterpiece Max! Bit of a tongue twister. It is a high volume & definition mascara and it does exactly that. It is subtle enough for daywear and absolutely widens your eyes. If you want to put a little more on for a night out don't worry - there will be no horrible clumps! My lashes are perfectly separated but at the same time amazingly voluminous!! I have been through many mascaras and always come back to this one! LOVE IT.

When it comes to mascara, I am all over the map haha! I just LOVE mascara. The one mascara that never fails and honestly, I will NEVER stop using is by L'Oreal Voluminous in Carbon Black. It's cheap and works amazingly on my lashes!

Mascara is a tricky thing for me. I've been blessed with naturally long and full lashes, so I rarely meet a mascara I don't like! :) However, CoverGirl Lash Blast and Maybelline Collosal are some of my favorites. Also, I got a sample size of Sephora Advanced Lash Boosting Mascara and it's really nice!

Quote of The Day...

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us most. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and famous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in all of us. And when we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Review: Temptu AIRbrush Makeup System!

Recently purchased a Temptu AIRbrush Makeup System. I've been able to play with it just about every day since I took it out of the box. Hope that you find this review helpful if your thinking about purchasing an airbrush system or just curious about how it works! ☺

What is an airbrush?

❣ An airbrush is a small, air-operated tool that sprays various media including alcohol and water-based makeup by a process of nebulization.

What is airbrush makeup?

❣ Airbrush makeup is makeup sprayed onto the skin using an airbrush instead of being applied with sponges, brushes, fingers, or other methods.

Airbrush Makeup has recently been re-popularized by the advent of HDTV and Digital Photography, wherein the camera focuses on higher depths of detail. Liquid Foundations that are high in coverage but thin in texture are applied with the airbrush for full coverage without a heavy build-up of product.

Why I chose Temptu?

❣ Love that it's sleek & compact.

❣ Love that it's an exclusive item at Sephora. (I trust Sephora, if they gave this system the stamp of approval to be an exclusive item for them, then it must be worth trying.)

After using the Temptu for almost a month at home on myself as well as on clients, my feelings:

❣ This system is extremely easy to set up. It comes with detailed instructions along with a dvd.

❣ You can build the coverage without it looking cakey, which is an A+ in my book.

❣ Great for everyday use, can go on as sheer as a tinted moisturizer & as heavy as full coverage. (as mentioned in my face routine post)

Easy to travel with, another plus if you are a freelance MUA. It will display to your clientele that you are on top of next generation makeup. Ever since I started introducing this system to clients they are very impressed with the results & always inquire about owning one for their home.

❣ No mess, makes everyones life a bit easier. The less brushes that I have to wash at the end of the day, the better.

❣ AIR pod Foundation contains a smoothing complex to diffuse the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, color-correcting pigments to camouflage imperfections, and moisturizers to help hydrate the skin.

What else you need to know:

❣ When going around the nose area, hold your head down to avoid spraying foundation into your nose. (I prefer to move the airbrush in one direction going downward when doing the nose area)

❣ Keep the airbrush moving.

❣ I use the airbrush as a concealer first (basically using it as a spot treatment before applying to the rest of my face)

❣ For full coverage I apply foundation one layer at a time. (allowing to dry between layers) I do not use the air to dry my foundation.

Taking care of your machine & keeping it clean is very important.

Proper air flow will ensure best possible results, before each application:

❣ Shake pod well.

❣ Holding the airpod vertically place poker inside the valve for 3-5 seconds to open up the valve.

After each application:

❣ Clean the nozzle of airpod using the same poker. This will ensure no clogging or build up. (do this before foundation drys)

❣ Store poker inside of airpod, fits very conviently inside of the clear tube.

Overall:

It was very much worth the $280 that I spent. I purchased the limited edition set which is a $315 value. The system is $225. Foundation $55 (which includes 2 airpods) The champagne highlighter was included in my set as well. I used it on my glamours party make-up post. Wearing this makeup feels like there is nothing on my face at all. It is so lightweight, I'm amazed at the coverage that it gives. Perfect for weddings & special occasions if it's not something that you feel like you'd splurge on for everyday use.

You can go to your local Sephora for a demo on how to use the system which really helps those that are indecisive about this purchase.

******I did the fullest coverage without adding any setting powder or other makeup which gave me this finish- I do not recommend such a full coverage for everyday makeup, I did this for demonstration purposes :)******

Bare Minerals: Purifying Facial Cleanser!

Bare Minerals launches a skincare line!

First product that I'm reviewing is the purifying facial cleanser. ($20)

What it's formulated to do:

∴ This gentle cleanser transforms into a light, creamy texture to remove makeup, dissolve impurities, and rebalance skin for a soft, smooth complexion. The 100 percent pure RareMinerals ActiveSoil Complex powers this product, leaving skin feeling perfectly clean, hydrated, and with a naturally luminous glow. Plus, it's gentle enough for eye makeup removal. {described by sephora.com}

First experience:

∴ I used my Sephora Face Complexion Brush to apply the cleanser all over my face (avoiding eye area)

∴ Used wet fingertips along with cleanser to gently remove my eye makeup.

∴ Rinsed face.

Results:

∴ Clean face, yet eye makeup was still not completely off.

Second experience:

∴ Used my face complexion brush.

∴ Used fingers to remove eye makeup.

∴ Waited a minute.

∴ Rinsed.

Results:

∴ Clean face, eye makeup completely gone.

What I like:

∴ Other than the fact that this product has skin-renewing benefits including accelerated cell turnover and antioxidant protection from environmental stressors I really like it because I can use it as my makeup remover as well as my cleanser. I normally remove my makeup with makeup wipes then cleanse, so this saves me some time.

∴ Lathers with very little product.

What I don't like:

∴ I personally prefer foaming cleaners.

Final Thoughts:

∴ For those long days/nights when all I want to do is go home hop in the shower and get my makeup off this is the perfect cleanser. I think it's best to use this cleaner in the shower (especially if you have eye makeup to remove) it's so gentle on my eyes that I can saturate it onto my entire face including my eyes so that the makeup can be broken down continue showering then rinse it off. No time wasted, no burning eyes just beautiful balanced skin.

Clinique's Bottom Lash Mascara!

No matter how simple the look, lashes always add that little something extra that I just love.

My lashes are really short (bottom & top) {{I just started on urban decay's lush lash system keep you guys posted on how that goes}} & everyone knows nothing completes a look like loads of mascara!- (or of course in my case false lashes)

Applying mascara to my bottom lash line is probably my least favorite step! Looks great but the problems we go through to get it on & stay nice and clean... smudging, clumpy, & flaking ugh!

There are countless tips and tricks for this annoying yet rewarding step!

Wouldn't you love if you can apply mascara to your bottom lashes without smearing & having to fix mistakes from your big mascara wand?

Clinique launched it's newest mascara last month made just for our bottom lashes!

I've been using this mascara every single day for an entire month and it's one of those items that will be a part of my everyday make-up routine. For days when all I want is mascara on (natural) and for days when I'm wearing the most dramatic look. This mascara's brush was engineered to grasp even the tiniest of bottom lashes, it was formulated to perform smear free!

Pros:

♥ Lasts 24 hours with thermal active long wear formula.

♥ Only $10

♥ Won't smudge, smear or flake off

♥ Waterproof in cold water

Cons:

♥ I'd use this first to comb out my lashes and get them nice and coated, which would just make it easier for me to apply another mascara on top with ease because it's not as black as I'd like. (when necessary)

What else you need to know:

♥ Bottom Lash Mascara is formulated to be removed with warm water. Simply splash warm water (bath temperature is ideal) onto lashes, press gently, and mascara comes off with ease.

♥ Comes in black & brown

♥ I use this on my top lashes after applying my regular mascara for a quick touch up.

♥ It's a very convenient size & I'll probably purchase another just to keep one in my bag at all times.

"...almost ready! just have to fill in my brows, and throw on some mascara!"
