FAQ: Why is priming your eyelids so important?

Working with make-up all day long, you begin to hear the same questions over & over again... So I've decided to start a new series on my blog... FAQ's (frequently asked questions) This should be fun :)

Why is priming your eyelids so important?

♥♥ You apply eyelid primer to insure that there will be no color fading, creasing, melting, blurring, oil slicked, and hard-to-blend eyeshadow accidents. (yes, primer makes eyeshadow a lot easier to blend) It also gives the eyeshadow color a nice pop!

♥♥ A little goes a long way with primer so a thin even layer is all that you need. This step takes literally 2 seconds to complete and it's so worth it! It prepares your eyelids for the color. Just like when you paint a wall, you prime first.. it's the same thing with your make-up!

♥♥ It evens out the skin tone on your lids and smooths lines while securing a barrier between the oils of your skin and your makeup!

♥♥ Some think that using concealer would do the trick.. WRONG! Concealer is used to do just what it says, CONCEAL! Hide acne scars, marks, blemishes, dark circles... not prime. Primer is specifically formulated to seal the surface and make sure the eyeshadow adheres to the surface to create the best-looking, longest-lasting finish. You are wasting your time, make-up and of course, money if your eyeshadow begins to fade & the color payoff isn't what it has the potential to be if you don't prime first.

One of my all time favorite eyeshadow primers is Too Faced Shadow Insurance! ($18) I've had mine for over a year, and it is still going strong! I love this product! I of course have many other primers, but this is one of my favs!

I hope that this new series of FAQ's will help, if you have any questions that you'd like me to answer comment below or send me an email ♥

Would You Rather: Beauty Edition!

Nobody likes to be embarrassed.. but we all have our moments... If you were able to actually chose your moment which would you rather? This is a tag going around on youtube, & I'd love for my subscribers to join in on the fun! Comments are more than welcome♥♥ Christmas is right around the corner so lets all be merry & have a good time with this! xo

♥ Would you rather walk around all day with you skirt tucked in your underwear or be seen wearing a really see through dress?
I'd much rather be seen in a really see through dress, because I can always put something on under it :) yes, I'm cheating lol!! If your underwear is tucked into your skirt that's mega embarrassing!!

♥ Would you rather go to a party and not realize until the end of the night that you have lipstick on your teeth or that your fake lashes are coming unglued?
I'd rather my lashes coming unglued.. That won't look as bad in pictures, and I could always just pull off the strip whereas lipstick on the teeth omg.. pictures will def pick that up! Imagine smiling laughing having a good time and you have red teeth, eeww.

♥ Would you rather forget to put mascara on one eye or forget blush on one side of your face?
It would be the mascara on one eye, because if you know me.. you'd know that I wear falsies all the time anyway. (with mascara on my real lashes so that they blend better) but still... defiantly not blush on one side haha that would be really off!

♥ Would you rather wear lipstick/lipliner combo or frosty blue eyeshadow?
I line my lips all the time, but not for the liner to really show.. more for it to just shape my lips or even fill them in so the lipstick can stick to it and last longer... so my answer is the lipstick/lipliner combo.

♥ Would you rather wear foundation that is two shades too light or go way overboard on bronzer?
Wow.. tough one... I never go overboard on bronzer, I use it to contour & that's about it, maybe the foundation two shades too light (on Halloween) haha!

♥ Would you rather drink an entire bottle of ketchup or run into the guy who broke your heart on a bad hair day when your skin is freaking out?
Drink the ketchup.. really? I guess run into the guy who broke my heart because I'm sure if he had my heart at one point he has seen me at my best & my worst already so who cares!..

♥ Would you rather be able to date any celeb you wanted or wake up with perfect red carpet-worthy hair?
I'd rather wake up with perfect red carpet-worthy hair! Who says that the celeb that I would want to date would be the guy for me? That would be my loss on perfect hair everyday without having to do anything to it! This was the easiest choice for me!!

♥ Would you rather your armpits smell musky or like delicious lasagna?
Umm.. Lasagna, duh! I'd play it off like I was cooking lasagna that's why I smell like it lol. No excuse for muskiness. YUCK!

♥ Would you rather give up your makeup or cell phone for one year?
I'd rather give up my cell phone, because I really love make-up even though we are all beautiful without it.. it still enhances a lot and it's so much fun! Now-a-days there are so many other ways to keep in touch. I don't even use my cell phone that much actually. I'd miss make-up way to much. Just thinking about a year without make-up is making me sad right now!

♥ Would you rather run into a cute guy you like with food all in your grill or no makeup at all?
No make-up at all! Like I said in the previous question.. we are all beautiful without make-up! Seriously that's really gross having food all in your grill! Why would you be walking around like that anyway?

Have fun with this guys... I am tagging all of my subscribers! Tag you're it!

Review: Nars Sheer Glow Foundation

This is a glowing, satin-finish foundation. For those that wouldn't even try this because it says "sheer" fear not my beauties... Although it does give light to medium coverage it is buildable! I started using this foundation on clients with dry skin (its made for normal to dry skin types) and noticed the beautiful radiance and nice dewy finish that I absolutely love! It is replete with skincare benefits, has a complexion brightening formula & hydrates the skin!

Not gonna lie, I was a little skeptical trying it out on myself because of my oily t-zones... but decided to give it a shot anyway! It made my skin feel softer and didn't make me look oily at all, I actually felt nice and fresh all day long! (yes, it lasts all day long!) Those with oily skin may want to try the sheer matte formula!

They say if used daily, Sheer Glow Foundation improves skin brightness, radiance and texture.

What it does:
♥ Minimizes visible discoloration
♥ Brightens and clarifies overall skin tone
♥ Improves skin luminosity and radiance
♥ Hydrates for softer and smoother skin
♥ Dermatologist tested. Non-comedogenic. Fragrance free.

Fun Facts:
♥ A pump is now available for $6
♥ My shade is Tahoe!
♥ Use an HD powder to set if you must.. never a mineralized powder, it will take away from the captivating finish of the foundation and give a cakey look!

Let me know about your experience with the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation!

November Favorites

Hey Beauties!

I can't believe that November is over! Time flies when you're having a good time I guess! Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving! One thing that I'm thankful for are my followers, love you guys!! XO

There are a few products that I've been loving this past month & I'm gonna bring them to light by sharing them with you all :)!

theBalm: Time Balm Concealer! ($18)

This is an anti-wrinkle cream concealer that is super easy to blend! It erases the appearance of under eye fine lines and wrinkles, dark circles & any imperfections that you want to cover up. That is what a concealer is supposed to do right? Well, the reason why i fell in love with this concealer is the simple fact that it doesn't only brilliantly conceal your imperfections, it TREATS them as well! Like i said before it has an anti-wrinkle formula! It can be worn daytime, nighttime, & bedtime! After using this concealer you will begin to notice the appearance of dark circles and fine lines start to fade! It comes with a sponge that fits perfectly into the pot for on the go touch-ups!

QUICK TIP: I prefer using my ring finger to apply concealer. The warmth from your finger will warm up the product and give an even smoother application!

Urban Decay: The Naked Palette! ($44)

Now, although the price of this palette is $44 it sells out as soon as it hits the shelves, so amazon and ebay offer it but for way more money! Since I got this palette I have done tons of looks from it! The colors are super blendable & very easy to use. The pigments are extremely rich! It comes with a primer potion and a dual 24/7 glide on pencil! I really like using that milk chocolate side of the pencil (whisky) as a base! It makes the colors POP! It comes with 12 beautiful shades and in nice sleek velvet packaging!

I will definatly do a post with differnet looks and swatches from this palette!(stay tuned) For November this was my go to palette & I can honestly say I did not create the same look twice! The possiblities are endless! These neutrals won't leave you naked!
